It’s Not An Easy Life for Alfred Being BATMAN’s Butler

You know what’s hard? Being responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a giant mansion all by yourself. You know what makes that even harder? When the only other person that lives in that huge house is, by any definition, a crazy person. Now imagine having a job that requires you to deal with both of those problems, but then add in having to help take care of all of the problems Batman brings home with him every day, from a broken Batmobile to a dearth of smoke bombs.

It’s a tough life old Alfred Pennyworth has there, what with the responsibilities of raising an orphaned, spoiled brat that grew up to dedicate his life to fighting crime as an anonymous vigilante in a cape. But you know what really hurts? You know what really makes a man say enough is enough? A lack of appreciation, when Batman just takes everything you do for granted, when Master Wayne doesn’t even recognize that your workload is insane.

In this funny video from Dorkly, one of the best YouTube accounts out there, we get to see what happens when Alfred finally stands up to his ungrateful ward and his never-ending list of demands. Nowhere in the job description of “butler” is there anything about round-the-clock maintenance of sophisticated electronic equipment.

Although, in a “be-careful-what-you-wish-for” ending, the only thing worse than working for Batman is working with Batman.
