iam8bit’s Sequel 2 Art Show Showcases Art for Sequels That Never Happened

Sometimes, it feels like the way the world seems to work is that films that deserve sequels don’t get them, and vice versa. iam8bit imagined posters for sequels that never happened (but maybe should have) with their Sequel art show two years ago, and they’re back with a sequel to Sequel! How many times can I use the word “sequel” in a paragraph?

Sequel 2 is an art show featuring posters from a variety of artists for sequels and prequels that were never made. And by posters, I mean limited edition, giclee prints. The concept for the show means artists can let their imaginations run wild and expand films they know and love.

For example, I think we can all agree the Mad Max: Fury Road universe would be improved by an Imperator Furiosa film. Nikita Kaun has it covered with this poster:

And forget Being John Malkovich. How about Being Jeff Goldblum? No offense, John Malkovich, we just have a thing for Jeff Goldblum ’round these parts. And apparently, so does artist Austin James.

And here, have some show details:

Drop on down to the gallery to peruse more posters for sequels and prequels that haven’t been made… yet. You’ll find pieces inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Tank Girl, Book of Life, and more. You can view the works in person at iam8bit’s gallery in Los Angeles from November 30 (RSVP for the opening reception here) through December 23. If you can’t make it in person to gawk and shop, you can purchase prints online beginning at 8:00p.m. PT on November 30.

Which film sequels do you dream about seeing? Sound off in the comments.
