Happy Sunday, horror friends! Welcome back to Horror Happenings, our weekly round up of all things spooky. Today we have a movie and a show coming to a town near you and news of a remake that has some series scare potential. Let’s get too it!

On August 11 in Los Angeles, CA filmmakers Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich kick off a tour throughout the US and Canada featuring Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival, the sequel to the 2012 cult favorite.

The cast this time around includes David Hasselhoff, Emilie Autumn, Paul Sorvino, Brea Grant, and Ted Neeley among many other stars and the traveling road show including a live opening act, an introduction from Darren and Terrance, screening of the film, Q&A with the filmmakers, exclusive merchandise and meet-and-greet opportunities.

Nosferatu Being Remade By Sundance Favorite

Director Robert Eggers, the Sundance favorite for his feature film debut The Witch, has been tapped to direct a new version of F. W. Murnau’s German expressionist horror classic, Nosferatu. Famously based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula just enough that Murnau didn’t have to call it Dracula, this new feature film adaptation is not the same project as the Nosferatu Remix starring Doug Jones that ran a successful Kickstarter campaign last year.

There isn’t much to know about Eggers’ version quite yet except that he will write and direct. Judging by the positive response to his period piece The Witch, which earned him the Best Director prize at Sundance earlier this year, there’s a good chance that Nosferatu will remain a period piece. We’ll keep you updated as details emerge! In the meantime, treat yourself to some more Orlok-y goodness by watching Shadow of the Vampire, because it’s awesome.
