HONEST TRAILERS Gives Us a Real Look at the Best Picture Nominees

The experts are calling this one of the closest Best Picture races in Academy Awards history, and that means any of the eight nominees could walk away with the Oscar this year. If you don’t remember which films are up for the big trophy though don’t worry, the folks at Honest Trailers have put together a nice little montage to help us sort them all out, with a little less hype and lot more truth.

So who do you think the Oscar will go to? Will it be…

  • No Money Mo Problems
  • Furiosa Road (Featuring Mad Max)
  • Frozen (No, not that one, the one with Leo and the bear.)
  • Newsies: Might Want to Avoid These Houses
  • Not Nearly Enough Spies
  • Survivor: Mars
  • F***ed Up Boyhood

Wait, that’s only seven. Oh, yeah, Brooklyn got nominated too, but like most moviegoers the people at Screen Junkies didn’t actually see it. That’s why the eighth nominee’s honest title is maybe the most accurate: You Can Only See So Many Movies.

What a group! From Adam McKay directing a best picture nominee in The Big Short, to the hilarious Matt Damon-led comedy The Martian, to Leonardo DiCaprio being really miserable and cold so he can finally win his Oscar, 2015 was quite the year for films.

Minus the fact that apparently no one noticed they made a few with African Americans in them.

Based on the honest assessments of these films, I predict Spotlight will walk away the winner, because even when trying to have some fun with it, it just seems too well done. (But it should go to Mad Max: Fury Road–all the awards should go to George Miller.)

Which honest look did you think was the most accurate? Be honest with us in the comments below.
