Grand Theft Auto Online just released an enormous update, Further Adventures in Finance and Felony, which essentially lets players become a high powered CEO of a criminal enterprise.
Of course, just because this is a video game, don’t expect your ride to the top of the criminal world to be easy. Nope, if you want to be the best and most feared in Los Santos, you’re going to have to put in the work. First, you’ll have to get yourself an office and a team of associates. The update came with new office suites specifically designed for, “the motivated career criminal” that come equipped with lots of things for the enterprising criminal like a full-time assistant, helipad, arcade game, and a gun locker.
As Gamespot reports, you can buy and sell “special cargo” to help increase your reach and gain revenue. Of course you’ll need to be careful, because as you rise through the ranks of criminal enterprise, rival gangs will start to take notice, and you’ll have to defend your warehouses from hostiles.
Naturally, being the CEO of a high-powered criminal ring means that  you have to take on more responsibility, which means more exciting in-game VIP work like Headhunter where you have to assassinate a target, Airfreight, where you liberate and safely store cargo, and Haulage where you work to be the first to deliver some tax-exempt materials.  You can also expect VIP challenges like Cashing Out, which asks you to lead the latest bout of ATM fraud in the crime-stricken Los Santos, and Salvage where players compete to retrieve the most lost cargo from the bottom of the ocean.
But like I said, this is an enormous update, so that’s not all Rockstar is offering. The Finance and Felony update also includes the “Trading Places” Adversary Mode, where players are divided into winners and losers. Because this game is played in the unforgiving world of Los Santos, the only way to be a winner is to kill a winner and take their place on the winning team. Rockstar really wants you to try it out, so they’ll be offering double RP for this mode for one week. Get it while it’s hot, kids.
You can also expect new clothes, vehicles, weapons attachments, and a boat named Tug (which is either adorable or dirty, depending on how you interpret the name). Even better, through June 13 the game is awarding lots of exciting bonuses, awarding players who log in before the 13th swag like pastel green pajamas, a pastel green smoking jacket, and discounts on things like the Buzzard Attack Chopper and Ammu-Nation items.
This update is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC right now. So what are you waiting for? You’ve got the entire world of criminal business to conquer!
Have you played the new update yet? What do you think of it? If you haven’t, what are you most excited to try? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
