The feature length Goosebumps adaptation we’ve all been waiting for has secured its release date: March 26, 2016. The film, directed by Rob Letterman, will star Jack Black as “Goosebumps” author R.L. Stine himself.
According to Deadline, the movie adaptation is about Zach Cooper (played by Dylan Minnette) “who moves with his family move from NY to to the idyllic town of Greendale, MD, where his secretive new neighbor turns out to be author R.L. Stine (Black). When the many, many demons in Stineâs mind are set free by Slappy, a demonic ventriloquistâs dummy, itâs up to Zach and Stineâs niece Hannah (Odeya Rush) to put the evil genies back in the bottle.”
It was also recently announced that Stine’s “Fear Street” series, mainly featuring teenage, female protagonists, would be revived with the novel “Party Games” due out September 2016. Could it be long before we see a Fear Street movie? A girl can dream…
