BLACK PANTHER Steps in for Jaden Smith in “Icon” Parody “Young King”

Being the child of a super famous actor might not automatically make you an icon, but being the eldest son of the King of Wakanda does mean that one day you too may ascend to the throne and rule over the most scientifically advanced country on Earth. And when that fate finally befalls you, there’s only one proper way to announce yourself as the African nation’s newest king and, as is also bound to happen in situations like these, the latest member of the Avengers: release your very own track “Young King”… which may or may not be heavily influenced by Jaden Smith‘s “Icon.”

Ahead of this week’s highly anticipated release of Marvel’s Black Panther, Nerdist Presents brings to you T’Challa like you’ve never seen him before, trading in his incredible martial arts skills for some mystifying dance moves (though still trouncing a few gun-wielding bad guys in the process).

We’re not saying Kendrick Lamar should have included “Young King” on the Black Panther soundtrack, because it’s so obvious he should have we don’t need to say it. As for the inspiration for this track, Jaden Smith’s “Icon,” it has racked up almost 47 million views since November, so we expect “Young King” to have that many by this Friday when Black Panther comes to theaters.

The only question we have is whether or not T’Challa was rocking his own set of vibranium teeth under his mask.

What other songs should T’Challa make his own? Tell us your best ideas in our comments section below!
