Gear Up Like A Master Chief with NECA’s HALO Motorcycle Helmet

If you’re a Halo enthusiast and you happen to have need for protective headgear, you’re in luck! A few replicas of Master Chief John-117’s signature helmet have been produced in the past, but now for the first time NECA is producing a street-legal version ready for an open-road excursion on your Mongoose.

Halo 5: Guardians isn’t scheduled to be released until later this year – likely in the fall – so if you’re itching to see life through Master Chief’s point of view, there’s no better way than popping this beast onto your noggin when it ships in July. Aside from being 100% equal to or exceeding the Department of Transportation’s standards for street usage, the helmet has a handful of nifty aspects you just won’t find on a run-of-the-mill helmet. As standard features go, the visor is both UV-protective and reflective. I doubt it gives off a sheen matching the bright blue jet propulsion of a Covenant Ghost, but it’s a handy safety feature nonetheless. Front air intakes and rear vents ensure a cool, defogged field of vision for the wearer. There’s room for eyeglasses in that airy interior, to boot. According to the official description, this thing comes equipped with a “glove-friendly opening mechanism”, so if that means there’s a button you can push and then *thwip* the visor raises, count me in!

The stability padding on the inside, including the cheek padding, is removable and washable. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I know that if I had one of these, I’d be wearing it far more than is necessary. A good refresh of the innards is always a welcome treatment for any helmet, especially one that looks too awesome to take off.

The design is still in prototype, so it may change before shipping, but check out this gallery to get a look at the UNSC goodness on its way to collectible shops this summer.
