It is time to take a break from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Seriously, everyone has been playing and loving the newest addition by CD Projekt Red, and though they deserve plenty of praise for completing the title, you can’t just ignore the going ons of the world. No, not the world news, I mean the gaming news! So take a break and allow us to catch you up with some updates in today’s Gaming Daily, where a Smash Bros. player is so good there is a bounty for his defeat, Battlefield Hardline: Criminal Activity DLC features revealed, and the Dragon Age crew congratulates The Witcher team.
Super Smash Bros. player has a bounty for his defeat.
There is a Super Smash Bros. Wii U player so good, he has come in first place in every tournament he has participated in since November 2014. It isn’t like he isn’t competing either; he has partaken in some of the most well-known tournaments, winning 34 1 v. 1 matches in a row. The culprit goes by the name Gonzalo Barrios, better known on the web as “Zero.” He has won so often that people are finally tired of seeing him at the top.
Alex Jebailey, founder of Community Effort Orlando (a fighting game tournament in Florida) has placed a $250 reward for anyone that is able to knock out the champ in CEO 2015 Super Smash Bros. tournament. You don’t even have to win the whole thing, just beat one player (though his track record shows that he will probably have to be taken down to claim the highest prize). This has garnered so much traction that even Chris Brown, owner of one of the leading Smash Bros. communities, has matched the bounty. So all you need to do is beat one guy for $500 straight to your pocket.
All of this is in good fun, of course, and doesn’t have any malicious intentions. It is just the community making more sport of out of the game. He is known to use Diddy Kong though, which was absurdly broken at some point. But he keeps winning despite the fact that his main fighter has been patched. It’s impressive.

Battlefield Hardline: Criminal Activity DLC content revealed.
It is time to jump back into Battlefield Hardline with the announcement of all the new additions that Criminal Activity will bring with it. This marks the first DLC to come to the cops and robbers game and will be available for early access in June. The pack seems to be a sizable one, bringing with it some new content that should bring more hours of fun to the fans.
Here are the new additions coming to Hardline:
- Four fast-paced new maps â Backwoods, Code Blue, The Beat and Black Friday
- Two new rides
- Two new ammunition types for specific weapons
- A new gadget
- Three new weapons
- A nailgun battlepickup
- New Bounty Hunter game mode
- Six new masks:Â two animal masks, and four new police headgear options
Hardline is a weird installment to the franchise. Sure. people are still playing it, but it made very little noise. Some of this can be attributed to the horrible start to the last installment in the franchise, making people wary about trusting EA again. The delays probably didn’t help much either.
It is sad because there was a point in time when Battlefield was thought to be a serious competitor for Call of Duty. Those days are gone;Â CoD usually destroys any shooter in sales. Titanfall managed to make much more noise in the shooter realm.

Dragon Age: Inquisition crew congratulates The Witcher team for the release of Wild Hunt.
The gaming community can be toxic. It has been well documented and is the reason why we try to keep the positive vibes intact here at Nerdist while still being critical and analytical. Which is why I enjoy highlighting good deeds that occur in the non-exclusive club of gaming. If you weren’t already aware (or perhaps live under a rock), The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC and everyone seems to be enjoying it quite a bit. Dragon Age: Inquisition developers took notice and took the time to send a short tweet congratulating the team behind Wild Hunt for all of their hard work.
It’s a small gesture, but it makes everyone involved look better and more importantly it is positive feedback in a world full of negativity. Microsoft and Sony both have been doing the same thing, congratulating each other when a large title releases on their platform. It is nice to see everyone acting like adults. Now we just need the community to follow the lead and begin to be more respectful to everyone.
Competition will always be there between developers, publishers, and large companies but it doesn’t mean they should hate each other. Instead we should all be happy when anyone in the industry we love flourishes. I challenge everyone to send one nice tweet to your favorite developer or publisher. They will surely appreciate it.
