GAME OF THRONES Confirms Final Episode Details (Plus New Images!)

Hello, citizens of the Realm: this post is about Game of Thrones final three episodes, which may mean some minor spoilers—so if you want to remain unsullied, maybe move away from this post real nice and slow.

A day after giving us the episode eight title and description, HBO has given a wider look at what to expect from the remainder of Game of Thrones‘ sixth season. And though we don’t have any vague sort of description of the episodes, we do know what the titles will be AND how long the finale episode will be—exciting stuff, especially when coupled with the new images from “No One,” this Sunday’s new episode.

Per Entertainment Weekly, (we have also reached out to HBO for confirmation), episode nine is known as “The Battle of the Bastards,” which we can all assume is about the epic and hotly anticipated battle for the North between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton. And it’s one worth getting excited over, seeing as D&D have already noted that this season includes the biggest battle in the show’s history. Airing on June 19th, the 60-minute long episode will be decidedly more fleshed out than last Sunday’s “The Broken Man,” which ran a mere 52 minutes.

This and the finale—”The Winds of Winter”—will both be directed by “Hardhome” helmer (y’know, the one with the epic white walker battle?) Miguel Sapochnik, so be prepared for some seriously epic action. Especially since the finale, airing on June 26th, will run a full 69 minutes long. Hell yeah! Give me all the Game of Thrones we can muster—especially considering the finale is a direct rip of the sixth book in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novel series’s title. If we were a betting lady, we’d assume this is the episode in which Lady Stoneheart will appear, the undead being very much the physical embodiment of the “ice” (death) of the wars to come.

And the new images from “No One”? Well, they’re just the ambiguous icing on this Westerosi cake. Check them out in the gallery below.

What do you think the extended episodes titles mean, though? Let us know in the comments below!
