Guardians of the Galaxy comic book readers knew that the Cosmo they saw in the movie, the little Soviet-clad canine member of the Collector’s living museum, was more than just a mere Easter egg; his presence was hope that one day he might take his rightful place fighting alongside the rest of the Guardians up on the big screen.
While we don’t know if he’ll be showing up in the sequel, we know one place the telepathic little guy is going to end up–on your desk, because Funko has just announced they are releasing a Pop! figure of him.
He is actually an inaugural part of their new “Specialty Series,” a new once-a-month release of a Pop! and Dorbz only available at “special accounts and loyal retailers.” They say the idea is to help promote local and smaller businesses, so you’ll be able to find them at “boutique retail, specialty stores, local comic book shops, and from qualified online retailers.”
Ah, yes, so what is the first “Specialty Series” Dorbz? Well, it just so happens to be another member of the Collector’s vast array of creatures from across the universe; a guy that really was merely a fun Easter egg in Guardians of the Galaxy:Â Howard the Duck.
If you don’t remember seeing Howard in the movie, well, that means you didn’t stick around for the end credits, which is very strange considering it was a Marvel movie and they have been known to put things there.
When you start seeing these guys available in stores, be a good boy and let us know where we can grab them.
Do you think Cosmo will ever be a real Guardian in the movies? Tell us why in the comments below.
