Full LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Trailer is Sci-Fi Superiority

So far this season, both The Flash in its sophomore year and Arrow in its fourth (senior?) year have been as good as they’ve ever been, but what’s been the most fun is seeing these shows gather up the new characters who will eventually go on to be in the next great CW DC Comics show, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. This is a show that’s been high on our list of cool things, especially given that, unlike the other two shows, it’s not based on a particular book at all. What kind of show will it be? Luckily, this newly released 3-minute trailer gives us more than a good idea.

It looks like it’ll be a perfect melding of superhero action, team/crew drama, and time traveling science fiction – all the things we love to watch! We get a much better look at the time ship used by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) that the team of specially chosen heroes/antiheroes will need to go both backward and forward in time in order to defeat the evil immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). This showcases more special effects than have been used in these shows so far, and I think it looks excellent, plus the ship will give a good base of operations and provide a set not unlike the Arrow Cave or S.T.A.R. Labs for everyone to congregate.

It’s going to be hard for the team to work together, given their disparate backgrounds, but when the future’s at stake, maybe they can make it work. Going back in time, trying to fix things. Like Quantum Leap but with superheroes! I love it. Plus, we get references to both Superman and Batman meaning they exist SOMEWHERE in this TV universe. Gotta love that.

And let’s just for fun rundown the cast list: Brandon Routh (Atom), Victor Garber and Franz Drameh (Firestorm), Caity Lotz (White Canary), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave), Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl), and Falk Hentschel (Hawkman). Who needs the Justice League when you have these guys?

Legends of Tomorrow premieres Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 8/7c on The CW. Let us know what you all think of the new trailer in the comments below!
