FALLOUT 4 DLC Plans Detailed, Mods Coming to PS4

With Fallout 4‘s release only 2 months away, Bethesda took the opportunity to discuss their post-release DLC plans. Extra content will be coming early next year, along with a season pass to boot. The pass will go for $30 and will grant players access to every piece of downloadable content ever made for the game. Not much else is known, as the developer doesn’t know what they’ll be adding to the game just yet. According to the studio, it’ll at least be $40 worth of content, saving you $10 in the process.

A Creation Kit used by the studio themselves will be made available to PC players early next year. The mods created using this kit will be sharable with others. The whole situation has also been cleared up for home consoles as well. Playstation 4 owners will get to use mods, but a little bit after the Xbox One, both succeeding the PC’s mod support. How long PS4 owners will have to wait is not clear, yet.  We knew the Xbox One would be supporting mods, but wording the was murky, making it difficult to decipher how the other platforms would be handled.

Updates will also be coming in regularly, and will be free to every player. These updates will not only include things such as fixes, but will also bring new features just like in Skyrim to the table. Bethesda plans to communicate with the community to figure out what needs to be added.

Speaking based solely on the teams track-record, it’s a safe bet that all the new additions coming via the season pass will be well worth every penny. Still, there shouldn’t be any reason to run out to purchase anything without knowing what will be included. Waiting a bit for clarity sake is a much better approach. As for the rest of this news, it’s great knowing the title will be supported in so many different ways. PS4 owners will be disappointed about having to wait for mods, but at least it will allow these players to complete as much on disc content.

Does this get you even more pumped for the imminent release of this AAA behemoth? What platform will you be playing the game on? Let us know in the comments below.
