Exclusive: William Shatner, Morena Baccarin Get Animated in MALEVOLENT Trailer

What happens when a bunch of aliens—and William Shatner—get involved with your dad’s very aggressive death wish? Horrific, animated chaos, folks. Enter: Malevolent, a new animated feature whose trailer we’re premiering right here, right now. Exclusively!

Malevolent, according to a press release, focuses on a young woman named Miriam (Dani Lennon), whose mean-mugging estranged father—a sociopathic U.S. war profiteer-slash-billionaire named Cyrus DeKalb (Ray Wise)—decides that his will shall contain nothing but judgement for his four children. Not money or things: just cold-heard cruelness in the face of his own mortality (how sweet!). No wonder Miriam works for a non-profit focused on global peace.

What makes this fun, though, is that their truly outrageous (but not in a fun, Jem way) father has planned a series of “elaborate death traps” for each of them, traitors to their country that they are. Uh, yikes?

But that’s not the whole kit ‘n’ kaboodle: apparently there’s also a race of intergalactic gamblers involved, putting wagers against Miriam and her siblings’ lives for sport—all of which is getting manipulated by a game master (played by Gotham‘s Morena Baccarin).

Oh, and uh, did we forget to mention that William Shatner is involved? Because William freakin’ Shatner is also involved, folks. Directed by Jason Axinn and written by Jim Cirile and Tanya Klein, Malevolent is heading your way in 2016.
