Emily VanCamp Teases Fight with [Spoiler] in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Casual comic book movie fans may not realize this, by Emily VanCamp’s Agent 13 is actually one of the most important supporting characters in Captain America. While Agent 13 didn’t have a lot to do in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, that’s going to change in a big way when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters.

During a recent appearance on Entertainment Tonight, VanCamp confirmed that the secret identity of her character will be out in the open in Civil War. If you don’t know who she really is and want to remain unspoiled, stop reading now!

“I can say that she’s openly going to be Sharon Carter in the next movie,” said VanCamp. “In the comic books, Cap and her have a love affair we get to sort of explore. I can’t say if we go to that extent of it, but they’re certainly getting to know each other and they know who each other are… There are die-hard fans that want to see him with different people, all the different camps. So hopefully people are happy.”

As her name implies, Sharon Carter is related to Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Cap’s first love. When Sharon Carter was originally introduced as Agent 13 in 1966, she was Peggy’s younger sister. Later comic book retcons turned Sharon Carter into Peggy’s niece. But she might be her grand-niece in the MCU, if Marvel chooses to maintain their family ties.

VanCamp also teased a fight scene in Civil War that will pit her character against Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. “I got to do a little fun, small fight sequence with Scarlett, which was fun, we’re all just kind of kicking ass in these movies.”
