Doctor Doom Becomes the Armored Avenger in INFAMOUS IRON MAN #1 (Preview)

Coming out of Civil War II, we know one thing for sure: Tony Stark is gonna be out of the picture for a while. In the aftermath, there will be at least two new contenders for Iron Man‘s legacy: a sixteen-year-old girl named Riri Williams, and Victor Von Doom, the man better known to the world as Doctor Doom!

Since he was stripped of his Godlike powers during Secret Wars, Doom has presented himself as an ally to Stark. But can the greatest villain in the Marvel Universe really embrace heroism? Or does the former dictator simply have a longer game in mind as he plans for the future? Either way, Doom will headline the new ongoing series, Infamous Iron Man, and it’s not clear if Marvel’s other heroes will be aware that Doom has assumed Stark’s role. It doesn’t matter to Doom; as far as he’s is concerned, he will succeed where Stark failed.

Marvel has released the first few pages from Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev‘s Infamous Iron Man #1, which features a flashback to Doom’s time on the Cabal during Dark Reign. Perhaps the seeds of Doom’s current actions were planted years ago…
