Do You Dare Eat Curling Iron Eggs?

Hair and food do not mix. You don’t want food in your hair, you definitely don’t want hair in your food, and food with hair is questionable at best—looking at you, kiwifruit. But even though hair and food may be a bad combination, there could still be some hope for hair instruments and food. Like the curling iron, for example, which can quickly cook an egg into a nice… flat… yellow sheet… of protein.

Yum.

For some—possibly glamping-related—reason, a senior beauty editor at Cosmopolitan decided to cook up an egg with a curling iron. Even though the process looks ridiculous, the result is evidently head-bobbingly good.

The egg-making action really heats up around 2:01 in the video, which comes via Gizmodo, and basically involves six steps:

  1. plug in your curling iron and wait for it to heat up
  2. oil your curling iron
  3. crack an egg in a bowl and mix
  4. dip curling iron into mixed egg until there is a fried sheet of egg around it
  5. remove sheet and fry uncooked side
  6. lick the curling iron (Just kidding! Please for the love of all that is delicious, do not lick the curling iron!)

If you’re interested in more hair-iron food—and why wouldn’t you be?—you can check out a frighteningly extensive collection of these videos on YouTube, including another one by Cosmopolitan (in which popcorn is made), and this one by YouTuber Tom Scott, which may actually make you hungry because it involves bacon. (We had your curiosity, now we have your attention.)

Now are you hungry for some eggs made with a curling iron?! Or can you never curl your hair or eat eggs ever again? Let us know what your gut’s “second brain” thinks of this snack in the comments section below!
