Denver Nuggets LION KING Cam Far Superior to Kiss Cam

You know what’s played out in sports arenas? Kiss Cams. Yeah, haha, let’s embarrass two people in front of 18,000 people by peer pressuring them to have a huge public display of affection, even though they might not like each other, be romantically involved, or heck, even know each other.

The whole thing was a bad idea to begin with that has somehow only gotten worse over time. Fortunately, the NBA‘s Denver Nuggets have found a way to forever end the tyranny of forced arena smooching by coming up with an alternative that is not only victimless, but actually promotes the celebration of life itself. We introduce you to the Pepsi Center’s Lion King Cam.

Lion-King-Cam
What the hell is that you ask? Great question. No, it does not involve getting two siblings on the Jumbotron and having one of them murder the other (:insert your own Philadelphia fans joke:). Rather, it finds fans who somehow thought a loud arena was a great place for their infant, and has them raise the child high, as though they are being presented to their new kingdom. You know, like this scene:

Maybe franchises should do that when they introduce their draft picks. If nothing else the leagues should do that with the first overall pick. Imagine if when LeBron James was drafted Shaquille O’Neal picked him up on the stage and held him up for the sports world to witness their new king. Like you wouldn’t tune in to see something like that.

This alternative to that silly old Jumbotron gag is so good we could kiss the Nuggets employee that thought it up. Just not on camera.

What other famous scene would lend itself to something fun like this? Tell us below.
