Nerdist Special Reports

Denis Leary and the Cast of SEX&DRUGS&ROCK&ROLL Swore and Selfied a Ton at Comic-Con

Last weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, the cast of FX’s new Denis Leary fronted comedy Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll took to the Nerdist Conival stage with Clarke Wolfe to talk about the dynamics of being in a fake reunited band, how Howard Stern’s Fartman brought them together, the Afghan Wigs and more. What ensued was vortex of incredible tangents and a whole lot of swearing.

From the moment John Corbett, Elizabeth Gillies, Elaine Hendrix, Bobby “Bang Bang” Kelly, and Leary took the stage, they exuded the confidence, swagger, and good humor of a legendary fictional band. When asked if they would ever survive as a real band, Gillies was quick to interject, “We’d all kill eachother!”, which we all know is just code for they would make some killer rock ballads before–in the words of Mr. Neil Young–burning out.

Given that all these actors have had some experience with musical performance (except Kelly, who had to learn how to play drums), we can expect to hear real performances from the group as soon as Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll premieres on FX this year.
