DEADPOOL Hosts the Teaser for His Own Trailer

It’s never too early in the morning for a chimichanga—or for some swearing and fourth-wall-breaking. We’re all super duper excited for the release of the Deadpool trailer on Tuesday during Conan but even though it’s only a day away, the Merc with the Mouth himself had to cut in to make us all even more excited.

The above teaser is 40 seconds of exactly what you want from the character who had previously been less-than-stellar-ly represented on film: an f-bomb drop, a reference to the actor playing him (Ryan Reynolds, natch), a stab at his first screen debacle in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and the exact costume you’d hope to see. This teaser, which looks a bit like a Masterpiece Theatre opening but with a Clapper, is the same one—though slightly re-voiced—that was shown at the beginning of the Deadpool portion of the Fox Hall H panel at SDCC. It doesn’t make it any less awesome, of course.

Of everything that happened during that panel, and it was a LOT of information and a lot of people onstage, the Deadpool stuff was by far the most electric, and the trailer (which everyone will get to legally watch tomorrow night) had the collected 7,000 people roaring with excitement. Clearly, Reynolds and director Tim Miller want to make sure everybody has fun with this, and that people are prepared for the potty-mouthed, ultra-violent explosion that it is.

Let us know your thoughts on Deadpool so far and be sure to check back here for the full trailer once it goes live!
