The DEADPOOL Trailer Will Premiere Next Week

It has been announced that the official red-band trailer for the Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds will be premiering in the coming week. Slashfilm has reported that Reynolds is slated to appear on Conan O’Brien’s show Tueday, August 4, and the official description on Conan’s schedule page states he will be premiering the red-band Deadpool trailer. Now, it is quite odd that they would debut the red-band trailer for the film on television, since it is something usually saved for the internet and in front of another R-Rated film. The green-band trailer is set to be premiering next Friday, August 7, in front of 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, but those who saw the leaked Comic-Con trailer have been clamoring to see some of the film in all of its crude, bloody, and vulgar glory.

Many saw the leaked version of the Deadpool trailer that was shown in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this year, and wondered when they would get a chance to see an official version. While Suicide Squad released a couple of days later, there was still no word on Deadpool. That is, until a tweet was posted by Ryan Reynolds himself touching on the subject.

So it seems Fox will be keeping to that schedule, and the trailers will no doubt hit the web after the premiere in their respective spots. Still, has cable TV gotten to a point where legitimate red-band trailers for something like Deadpool air on TBS? My instincts say “no,” but we will have to find out on Tuesday.
