David Lynch Announced a Festival and The Lineup is Insane

After a very successful showing for his musical tribute last year in Los Angeles, David Lynch is revamping the one-off into a full blown festival called Festival of Disruption, which sounds like if could have been part of his jarring filmography.

The festival will take place October 8 and 9 and will feature an idiosyncratic lineup of musicians, actors, visual artists, VR creators, and choreographers at the ACE Hotel and Theatre in downtown LA. Among the incredible cast of musicians performing are Robert Plant, St. Vincent, and Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti performing music from the show with Sky Ferriera and Xiu Xiu.

In addition to musical performances, there will also be talks by impressive figures including Kyle MacLachlan, Blondie’s Debbie Harry, Frank Gehry, Mel Brooks; a photography exhibit by Lynch himself; and DJ sets by Questlove and KCRW’s Jason Bentley. The lineup of things to experience is truly eclectic,  but that is exactly what you should expect from a festival whose founder made only cult classics and also wrote a book about transcendental meditation.

Tickets go on sale June 24 at 10 AM PST, and they are a little steep at $350 a pop, but it will undoubtedly be worth it, AND it is for a good cause. The proceeds from the fest go to the David Lynch Foundation, which seeks to aid at-risk demographics who suffer from stress and PTSD.

Are you planning on attending the Festival of Disruption this fall? That is a rhetorical questions and will see you there.
