Darling DisneyBounding at Disneyland’s Dapper Day

Sunday wasn’t just another day at the Disneyland Resort; it was Dapper Day and also Bats Day, two unofficial events involving dressing up. Dapper Day is about being,, uh, dapper, and Bats Day is about going goth. Because I love to put on a fancy dress and snazzy accessories, I focused on Dapper Day. The event started in February 2011 and, simply put, it’s a fashionable outing at the parks. Attendees are encouraged to step out in style from all eras. Many folks opt for vintage looks emulating those worn when Disneyland opened in 1955, some go contemporary, and others decide to apply the dapper style to DisneyBounding.

DisneyBounding is the art–and it is an art of sorts–of putting together an ensemble that makes you evoke your favorite Disney characters without going the full cosplay route. No one should confuse you for actually being the character, but they should be reminded of the character, if that makes sense. And there were oh so many stylish and chic examples of DisneyBounding on display yesterday that I had to take a few photos!

My favorite is when I see characters like Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas turned into an elegant ensemble. This lady’s a wizard.

This group of dapper droids is making me want to put together a Chopper outfit:

Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootopia were popular choices, and these ladies did a marvelous job pulling off the looks:

And please admire this amazing jacket the wearer made:

Disney characters were well represented, obviously, but I noticed some other bounding happening. I spotted an Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender and this entire group of Ghibli characters:

Those pictures only scratch the surface of all the creative DisneyBounding I spotted at the park yesterday. Jump to the gallery below to see more ensembles including Rey from The Force Awakens, Bing Bong from Inside Out, Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, and so much more.

Which look is your favorite? Have you DisneyBounded before? Let me know in the comments.
