Celebrate Alien Day with a 24-Hour Ultimate Trivia Showdown

April 26 might not be a day that will live in infamy, but to fans of the Alien film series, the number 4-2-6 is one that definitely does. (LV-426 is the planet where the queen alien and all those drones and eggs were in the movie Aliens.) The date has now officially been dubbed Alien Day, and to celebrate the inaugural instance of the holiday, Alien and Aliens will be returning to theaters in 18 cities nationwide (most cities are sold out but you can find out if screenings are still available from Alamo Drafthouse).

In celebration, Nerdist is teaming up with Twentieth Century Fox for the Alien Ultimate Trivia Challenge! All day long (from midnight to midnight) you’ll be able to answer trivia questions on Twitter and could win different prizes for each.

A different trivia question is happening every 42.6 minutes for 24 hours (that’s about 35 trivia questions) and winners will receive official Alien franchise merchandise — like a Diamond Select Toys Reproduction Kenner 1979 Alien Figure (value $449), Sideshow Collectibles’ Alien Internecivus Raptus Statue ($500), Aliens Power Loader Vehicle Replica from Hollywood Collectibles ($2000), Reebok’s Alien Stomper sneakers ($175); plus NECA Action figures, Zen Studios’ Alien vs Pinball digital pinball 3 pack, Dark Horse Alien franchise comics and much, much more.

All you have to do to enter is go to AlienAnthology.com and register your Twitter handle, then just reply to the initial “question tweet” for each of the trivia questions with the right answer and use the hashtags #AlienDay426 and #Contest. That’s it! If you answer correctly, you could be a winner. Some questions can have multiple winners so it behooves you to answer even if you aren’t first. Be sure to read all of the official rules at the above website too, just so you know what’s what.

ALIENDAY PRIZES 1000x667-FINAL[1]

Do YOU know Alien movies? Do you have what it takes to join the cadre of winners? Then you better register, and you only have from 12:00 a.m. ET to 11:59 p.m. ET on April 26 to be involved.
