Capaldi, Coleman, Gomez and More Answer DOCTOR WHO Questions

We’re getting incredibly close to the Doctor Who Christmas special, and Tuesday the complete Series 8 box set was released, so we’re currently in what we in the business like to call “the sweet spot” for having all of the previous episodes at our fingertips and the next episode less than a month away. Oh, how luxurious it is. Of course, after “Last Christmas” airs on December 25th, we’ll have to wait another nine months to see what Series 9 will have in store for P-Caps and whether or not J-Co is going to leave or come back. But still, for the moment, sweet spot.

This week, also, the Series 8, DVD and Blu-ray were released and below you can find an exclusive clip from one of the special features, from the “Deep Breath” Q&A in London back in August. Capaldi, Coleman and Steven Moffat discussed why the Scottish actor was chosen for the Twelfth(ish) Doctor.

After the series was over, another Q&A was held in London, a postmortem of sorts, in which TV personality and Series 8 guest star, Frank Skinner asked questions of those same three, plus Samuel Anderson (Danny) and Michelle Gomez (Missy).

Backstage from that, though, he answered questions from fans pulled at random from a TARDIS cookie jar. Does that cookie jar make noises? Of course it does.

I’m with Capaldi on wanting to go back in time, specifically to see films with audiences who’ve never seen them before. Can you imagine being the only one in a packed theater who’d ever seen Jaws or Star Wars, or Psycho or The Great Train Robbery? Man, that would be an unparalleled delight. That’s an aspect to Time Lordiness I hadn’t even considered. My whole life has changed.

And if that weren’t enough, as a little holiday treat, Capaldi, Coleman, and Gomez took turns talking about their ideal Christmas. Gomez seems like a fun time with her list of people she’s never met she’d like to spend the day with.

Will Ferrell, Maggie Smith, and the Master all at the same table. Now that WOULD be a Christmas miracle.
