Don’t you wish there was an easier way to book travel between the myriad cities of Westeros and Essos? Sure you do.
There’s no denying the realm of Game of Thrones is massive and lacking in speedy options. The least they could do is make it easy to navigate, right? Luckily, the folks over at KAYAK have heard all our calls and created the perfect one-stop-shop for figuring out when the cheapest time to travel across the Realm really is. Jeez, welcome to the 5th AL already, guys.
We’ve been trying to figure out the best time of year to make our way south from Winterfell to Oldtown (another winter in the North sounds positively unbearable, doesn’t it?) for months now. Turns out there’s no need to go through White Harbor to get south after all â what a relief. Currently, there are 10 different cities set up for travel, but we’re sure the success of such a program will only make more routes available. It’s only a matter of time before demand will push this service into Dorne. A vacation to Sunspear (or The Reach’s Arbor) is going to be a N-E-C-E-S-S-I-T-Y after this upcoming winter, y’all. We can already tell.
Feeling the itch of the travel bug but unsure where to visit? Don’t panic! Westerosi and Essosi tourists can simply click the handy “airport map” to see what other cities and towns are nearby â convenient, no?
The only drawback? The ease and speed of the booking doesn’t also affect the length of the travel time. It still takes a positively arduous 35 days to get from Winterfell to Oldtown. But most travel times within the Realm take weeks, so just remember to continue planning accordingly. We’ve included some screengrabs for your convenience:
So, if you’re heading to any of the following cities, get ready for supreme ease when it comes to picking the optimal carriage and ship routes you need:
· Kings Landing, Westeros (KLA)
· Oldtown, Westeros (OLT)
· Lannisport, Westeros (LPR)
· Gulltown, Westeros (GUN)
