Just because Oliver (Stephen Amell) and the rest of his team took down Damien Dahrk (Neil McDonough) on Arrow, doesn’t mean the mystical HIVE leader is going to stay down. (Needless to say there are spoilers afootâread at your own risk!)
After getting a little help from Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke), Team Arrow managed to steal and destroy the magical totem that gave Dahrk his mystical powers. Once his magic was cut off, he was just a manâand Oliver knocked him out to save his son. Dahrk is now in police custody, and his trial is about to begin. But don’t forget that he’s one crafty man.
Nerdist has your exclusive first look at the opening statements of Dahrk’s trial which begins in Wednesday night’s episode, “Broken Hearts,” and he wastes no time in trying to slither out of this whole mess. Before Laurel (Katie Cassidy) could even try to argue for no bail, Dahrk’s attorney reveals that they’re going to waive bail so the court can focus its attention on their motion to dismiss … as in, dismiss the entire trial. Dahrk’s going to try and argue that his real name is, get this, Kenneth Bender, and that he was being held hostage too, making him far from culpable for the crimes of which he’s being accused. Take a moment and laugh about that to yourself, before you realize that Dahrk could actually weasel his way out of any kind of punishment for his crimes. This dude is formidable, to say the least.

But that’s not all that’s going down in tonight’s hour. A heartbroken Cupid (Amy Gumenick) returns to Star City with one goal: to destroy anyone in love. Team Arrow learns she’s killing couples on their wedding day, so Oliver and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) decide to pose as bait …despite Felicity having just called off their own real engagement. Talk about awkward! But at least now we know where that Olicity wedding photo that executive producer Marc Guggenheim was circulating on Twitter comes from.
