It’s been forever since Adele’s sophomore album, 2011’s 21âin this scenario, forever means four years. We’ve gotten some information about the upcoming release, though: Max Martin, Ryan Tedder and Tobias Jesso Jr. are involved in the record, and so is Damon Albarn, who doesn’t seem to care for it. Ed Sheeran has heard good things, though, saying, “I havenât heard [the album], but everyone I know whoâs worked on it is just like, ‘Dude⦠that record!’ Apparently, itâs really good.”
Adele knows that it’s been too long, so she tweeted a note about the album today, apologizing for the delay and explaining what her third album, which she seems to confirm will be titled 25, is all about.
She wrote, “My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.” She went on conclude the note, “25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realising. And I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.”
While we still don’t have a confirmed release date, at least we know that Adele has a fire lit under herâin addition to the one starting in her heartâand she’s hoping to get this thing out soon. Read the full note below and let us know in the comments if your body is ready for Adele and her raw, potent emotions.
