Adam Driver Redefines ALADDIN in Hilarious SNL Skit

Adam Driver helped re-introduce Star Wars to generations old and new playing Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens. However, if this SNL sketch is any indication, he may not be ready to branch out into other Disney properties.

Adam plays Aladdin to Cecily Strong’s Jasmine in a re-creation of the magic carpet scene from the 1992 animated classic. As the pair begin to sing “A Whole New World,” Jasmine is introduced to the REAL world as mishap after mishap occurs, showing that you really need to register your flight path with the FAA regardless of whether your aircraft is powered by jet fuel or magic.

After encountering her first bird strike, Jasmine gets hit over the head with a bomb. Then she falls victim to a passenger plane emptying out its toilet mid-flight over her head. If that wasn’t enough, the carpet then has to make a crash landing at an air force base. Despite all this, the sketch does have a happy, if a little gross, ending.

There’s been no word from Disney as to whether Driver will be involved with the “Let’s forget our utensils and plates are actually people and throw them in the dishwasher by mistake” version of Beauty and the Beast.

So what do you think? Has Adam Driver found his calling as a full-time member of the Disney family? What was your favorite sketch from his SNL episode? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
