WONDER WOMAN Releases New Photo and Cast List as Filming Begins

With Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad coming out in 2016, the DC Cinematic Universe is kicking it into high hear and competing with Marvel for movie supremacy. We now have a proper glimpse into the third film in the series, Wonder Woman, and its lead character.

Gal Gadot, the film’s star, who will make her first appearance in BvS, tweeted this photo last night, announcing that filming has begun.

We previously reported that based on a previous set photo, the movie, or at least part of it, will take place during World War I. The above photo leaves clues as to location. It could be Themyscira, or it could be Europe somewhere, as the building in the far background resembles a clock tower.

Along with the photo, Warner Brothers released the cast list, which includes Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. Also announced were Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Ewen Bremner (Trainspotting), Lucy Davis (The Office, Shaun of the Dead), David Thewlis (The Harry Potter Series), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), and Robin Wright (House of Cards). None of their character names have been revealed yet.

Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins, is scheduled for release on June 23, 2017.

So what do you think? Are you excited for Wonder Woman? Based on this list, who’s playing who? What easter eggs should they include? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
