Where to Find Nerdist at Comic-Con

In preparation for Nerdist Industries’ inevitable takeover of the world, we’re starting by taking San Diego Comic-Con International by storm, with Nerdist-related events and people everywhere you look. There’s a lot going on, so here’s a quick guide to where we’ll be:

Podcast: Before you go disappearing into your crazy San Diego Friday night, come to the Balboa Theatre to get a heaping dose of burrito enjoyment when Chris, Matt and Jonah podcast for a live audience at 7pm. They will be setting a course with Captain Jack Harkness himself, John Barrowman. Be there as Nerdist delves into the secrets of Torchwood, Doctor Who, and… Spider-Man and Wonder Woman?

Panels: The Nerdist Channel panel, featuring Chris Hardwick, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Gary Dell’Abate, Alison Haislip and Alex Albrecht, takes place Saturday at noon at the Indigo Ballroom in the Hilton Bayfront. Chris will also be on the YouTube panel Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the YouTube Fan Lounge at The Legend (325 7th Ave.), and can be found moderating several other high-profile panels: Legendary Comics, Thursday at 5 p.m. in room 6A; Walt Disney Studios with Wreck-It Ralph, Oz the Great and Powerful and Frankenweenie, Thursday at 2:05 p.m. in Hall H; The Walking Dead, Friday at 1:25 p.m. in Hall H; Warner Bros./Legendary on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., also in Hall H, featuring The Hobbit, Pacific Rim and Man of Steel; and Doctor Who, Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in, yep, Hall H. Also Walt Disney Studios, Thursday at 2:05 p.m., again in Hall H. He is a busy dude.

The host of Hero Complex on the Nerdist Channel, the Los Angeles Times’ Geoff Boucher, will also be doing some big-time moderating, notably the hotly anticipated Iron Man 3/Marvel panel Saturday at 6 p.m. in Hall H, but also The Expendables 2 (Thursday, 4:45 p.m., Hall H), Syfy’s Defiance (Friday, 6:45 p.m., room 6DE) and Alphas (Saturday, 2 p.m., Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront).

Signings: Want to meet Chris Hardwick? Catch him at BBC America’s booth (#3629) Thursday at 3:30 p.m., or at the Legendary Entertainment booth (#3920) prior to the Nerdist Channel panel on Saturday, between 10 and 11 a.m. Over at Hasbro’s booth (#3213), you’ll find Course of the Force host and Her Universe fashion plate Ashley Eckstein on Sunday between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Note: autograph tickets are required for Ashley and will be distributed in the Hasbro booth beginning at 9:00am on Sunday (while supplies last).

Extras: To enjoy the Warner Bros. Extra stage in Bayfront Park, you don’t even need a Comic-Con badge, and several of the acts there are ours. Check out The Tournament of Nerds Thursday at 6 p.m., followed at 7 by The Meltdown Live with Kumail Nanjiani, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, Jordan Morris, and special surprise guests to be announced. Then on Saturday at 6 p.m., break out your best comic-themed clothing for a costume contest presented by Just Cos.

Tapings ‘N Stuff: Neil deGrasse Tyson will have a special live edition of StarTalk 4 p.m. on Saturday at The Legend, which is also the location of the YouTube Fan Lounge, where we will have a vignette selling Nerdist shirts and Course of the Force Speck iPhone 4 cases, and outside of which the Course of the Force Sail Barge will be on display. Meanwhile, an episode of 4 Points with Alex Albrecht will be shot at the Legendary booth Friday at 6 p.m. (though the taping won’t be open to the public, you may be able to sneak a peek at the shoot).

And then there’s The Pass, from Legendary Entertainment. What is it? Here’s how you find out: Take a picture of either the Sail barge, or the Legendary/Warner Bros. props on display in the YouTube Fan Lounge. Then stay tuned to Nerdist News’ Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to find out what time on Friday or Saturday you should bring that picture to the Legendary booth to win a T-shirt. Then check your shirt – some of them contain a very special pass to an exclusive presentation of footage hosted by a director from an upcoming Legendary film. Frankly, we’re jealous of you getting a chance like that.
