A WESTWORLD GAME OF THRONES Crossover Idea and More TV News

Westworld is back with a new episode on Sunday night, but before you enter that world and work on your theories, imagine what it would be like if that show met Game of Thrones. George R.R. Martin has an idea for a crossover. Read about it in today’s TV-Cap and see some appropriately gross Stranger Things recipes, learn about a 360 degree experience for The Walking Dead, and more.

Hopping Borders. Westworld’s only been on the air a few weeks, but the buzz I see online and on social media is feverish–sort of like with Game of Thrones. In other words, well played, HBO. But what if the two worlds collided? Westworld showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy told Entertainment Weekly George R.R. Martin pitched the idea of a crossover to them over dinner. He suggested a Westeros World as a possible playground instead of a Medieval World. Westeros World would have hosts based on Game of Thrones. Huh! I mean, the violence and sex in Westeros certainly seems suited for a Westworld-esque theme park. Of course, I don’t know that he was being serious, but Nolan said they were certainly flattered that the idea would even occur to Martin. Read more at Entertainment Weekly.

Super Punch. Ever wondered how The Flash is able to throw his super-powered, super awesome punch? Kyle Hill covers the topic on he latest Because Science and goes over the ins and outs behind Barry’s infinite mass punch. [Nerdist]

TV Sequel. Television is where it’s happening these days, friends. Reboots, adaptations, and sequels to films–all of it’s on the small screen. The latest film going to TV is Enemy of the State. Jerry Bruckheimer wants to do a TV sequel to the film from 1998; ABC’s already placed a pilot commitment for the show set 20 years after the film. [The Hollywood Reporter]

An Anthem. Weezer dropped by The Late Late Show with James Corden this week and got all patriotic. They performed “I Love the USA,” and given the political storm the U.S. is swimming through right now, it might be the pick up citizens need. [Nerdist]

A Distinct Look. Mark Hamill’s reprising his role as Trickster in season three of The Flash and some photos from set show the new costume is quite similar to another character he’s played. The purple, striped suit and slicked back hair certainly have a Joker look about them. See the pics at CBR and let me know what you think.

Closing In. Ever wonder what it would feel like to be in the world of The Walking Dead? I haven’t, but maybe some of you are braver than me. The above video gives you an idea of what it’s like to be surrounded by walkers in a full 360° experience. I tried to watch it in order to report on it accurately, but guys, I could only take a few seconds. I don’t like being scared. But, if you’re into immersiveness, this is made for you. You can watch the video as is or also on Google Cardboard if you want that extra terrifying VR element. AMC will be releasing more 360° videos throughout season seven. [Nerdist]

Going Retro. On November 7, SundanceTV will turn back the clocks for their daytime programming. From 6:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. every week day they’ll show “Timeless. Timely, TV.” The block will include series such as M*A*S*H, The Bob Newhart Show, and All in the Family among others. They’ll air each show in chronological order.

Upside Down Kitchen. Netflix releases recipe videos in their cleverly titled series on YouTube, Netflix Kitchen, and they recently tackled Stranger Things. They created Demogorgon pie and French Onion Barb. The recipes look both delicious and icky. See the Demogorgon above and the Barb recipe here at Nerdist.

Winchesters, Gods. Let’s talk TV new and old. The Winchester brothers had a complete family reunion on last night’s Supernatural; read my recap. Then, travel back in time and enjoy the latest Game of Thrones Re-Throned from Michael–he’s on season two.

Are you on board with Westeros meeting Westworld? Head to the comments and tell me how you’d make it work.
