As we move into 2011, and since (checks around, calls out, hears echo) I’m the only one around while the rest of Nerdist Nation is out partying, I figured I should take a moment and thank you for what turned out to be a very good 2010 for Nerdist.com .
This was, after all, the year the Nerdist Podcast took over the known universe, which was nice. Web Soup also infected a growing number of minds, and, starting in May, Nerdist.com became home to a growing number of contributors who brought their own perspectives to Nerd Culture. Development continued on a related social network about which you’ll hear more in 2011. And, late in the year, I crashed the party.
Good times.
It’s all, of course, because of you. And lots of Doctor Who news, but mostly you. Without you, we’d be talking to ourselves here. (We do enough of that on our own time) Having a loyal, committed, highly participatory audience gives us plenty of motivation to make this place better, and we’re going to try to do just that in 2011. At least, I think we are. Nobody else is here. (Hello? Hello??? Sigh)
So, again, thank you, and… wait, what’s the catchphrase? Keep circulating the tapes? No… Klaatu barada nikto? Oh, right…
Enjoy your burrito!
LOL @ the movie reference from The Day The Earth Stood Still – Ever seen the 1951 original? The cheesy robot and the overly dramatic, blood curdling screams Patricia Neal belted out…Ah! The classics!
Ditto @Burnside. It’s gonna be a delicious new year.
Ha! I was on the website last night.. didn’t read what you wrote but watched the clip of everyone’s fireworks… it was still not midnight where i live though when I watched it 😛
Happy New Year! love the site! 🙂
It’s been a blast contributing to this site! I hope 2010 pails in comparison to 2011 for all things Nerdist!
Happy New Years, everyone! Enjoy the heck out of your burrito!!!
Good to have you on, Perry, and the Nerdist network is a valuable addition to the interwebz overall. Keep on rocking.
Congrats Kyle Anderson for being a great addition to the Nerdist Universe (ya welcome!) and everyone Happy New Year and Enjoy your Fuckin’ Burrito! 😀
Thanks for a great year of news and podcasts. I’ve enjoyed them all and I hope I will for years to come 🙂
