“Weird Al” Yankovic Is Releasing and Accordion-Shaped Box Set

“Weird Al” Yankovic is releasing a box set of all 14 studio albums and a boat-load of bonus material. Wait. Did we say “boat-load”? We mean accordion-load as Squeeze Box: The Complete Works of “Weird Al” Yankovic comes packed in a box designed after Yankovic’s instrument of choice.

Legacy Recordings and PledgeMusic are teaming up with Yankovic to bring this box set to the masses and will be available to pre-order via Al’s campaign page. According to the press release, fans will be able to “purchase various bundles featuring signed test pressings and other merchandise available only through the PledgeMusic campaign.” Fans who preorder the box set can also check back on the site about updates and chances to take a trip to the mastering studio.

Considering this is “Weird Al”‘s life’s work, trust that you’re going to get a lot squeezed into the bellows of the accordion replica. Squeeze Box features all 14 of “Weird Al”’s studio albums remastered on CD, 150-gram vinyl and digital. The albums, in case you forgot, include:

“Weird Al” Yankovic (1983)
“Weird Al” Yankovic In 3-D (1984)
Dare To Be Stupid (1985)
Polka Party! (1986)
Even Worse (1988)
UHF – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Other Stuff (1989)
Off The Deep End (1992)
Alapalooza (1993)
Bad Hair Day (1996)
Running with Scissors (1999)
Poodle Hat (2003)
Straight Outta Lynwood (2006)
Alpocalypse (2011)
Mandatory Fun (2014)

In addition to the stuff we know and love, the box set will come with a 100-page book featuring rare photographs and a 15th bonus disc called Medium Rarities, full of non-album tracks curated by Yankovic himself. The only things missing are some extra slots for future albums as “Weird Al”‘s decades-long career isn’t showing any signs of slowing down! In fact, we seem to recall a certain company teaming up with him a few years back to make a very energetic one-shot video. What was the name of that company? It was something like “Blerdist” or “Nerdwisk”?

So, how fast did you order your Squeeze Box: The Complete Works of “Weird Al” Yankovic? Did you even manage to get to this last sentence before ordering? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
