We Went SKYBOUND with Robert Kirkman and More at New York Comic Con

No one could ever accuse us here at Nerdist of not loving comics. Which is exactly why we were thrilled to bring together the impressive creative team behind Robert Kirkman’s Image Comics imprint, Skybound Comics, for a casual conversation with our own Dan Casey at New York Comic Con.

For fans of all things Skybound, this one is not to be missed: we got Josh Williamson to chat about Birthright and the influence 80s action-adventure films have had on his work. Paul Azaceta and Robert Kirkman dished on Outcast‘s origins and the root of our demonic possession fears as a society. And for good measure, Shawn Martinbrough discussed Thief of Thieves, hinting at some potential international business of upcoming arcs while giving us a brief update on the TV iteration of the story.

And yes, of course, there was a brief bit of business about that whole The Walking Dead premiere at Madison Square Garden, as well as advice for artists hoping to get their portfolios looked at by these very impressive fellas. And there was even discussion on the company’s all-too-impressive future, now that they’ve put out their first film, Air, starring Norman Reedus.

Are you a fan of Skybound Comics’ work? Which properties do you love the most? Let us know in the comments below.
