We Need This Captain Phasma Figure From Hot Toys

This figure is getting added to my wishlist right this minute, so take note Santa. Hot Toys is releasing a Captain Phasma figure from the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens sometime in the woefully vague timeframe of Q2-Q3 2016, but I (and everyone else at Nerdist) want it forthwith!

Hot Toys is known for its exquisite attention to detail in their figure recreations, and Captain Phasma is no exception. Sculpted in 1/6th scale, Captain Phasma has all the same badassery we’ve seen so far in the trailers in smaller form, right down to an impeccably recreated blaster. The metallic sheen of Phasma’s unique armor looks so good, it’s probably worth investing in some sort of lighted display just for the figure so you can properly showcase your miniature First Order Captain.

As excited as I am for nearly all aspects of the upcoming Episode VII, I’m especially excited for the character of Phasma. Darth Vader was cool and all, and he certainly inspired a great deal of on-screen gravitas with his all-black attire and menacing silhouette, but Captain Phasma just looks so much freaking cooler than he ever did. The minor pop of red on Phasma’s black cape paired with the silver of the armor is visually impressive, and the sheer height of the character (thanks to star Gwendoline Christie) has finally given me someone on the Dark Side with whom to pledge my allegiance. Sorry Jedi Order, but Captain Phasma is awesome.
