WATCHMEN Honest Trailer Takes on Zach Snyder’s First Superhero Movie

Remember when Zack Snyder adapted a beloved and iconic comic book full of memorable characters and incredible moments into a controversial film that disappointed many fans? No, not that movie, the first time he did it.

Yes, the Screen Junkies are back with another edition of Honest Trailers, this time for the Snyder-directed Watchmen, a movie that played against classic superhero characters by imagining what they would all be like if they were total dicks.

Speaking of…the movie probably wouldn’t have been harmed all that much if Dr. Manhattan had worn underwear in a few more (dozen) scenes. No matter how you feel about the content of Snyder’s take on Watchmen, if nothing else it does look gorgeous… so maybe don’t distract your audience from the super complicated story and the beautiful aesthetics by constantly having a glowing blue super man going full commando. Hell, that was released in IMAX for crying out loud!

I’ve seen Watchmen probably a dozen times (I hate it that much, clearly) so I think they actually went easy on this film. I mean, my version of an Honest Trailer for this movie would have just been me screaming like a mad man while the single funniest moment in human history, the sex scene between Night Owl II and Silk Spectre II set to Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” played on repeat.

As they point out, if you didn’t get enough Watchmen in the two hour and 40 minute theatrical release, remember, there are two other longer cuts available for you to watch. Hallelujah indeed.

How do you feel about Watchmen? What did they get right or wrong with this Honest Trailer? Tell us in the comments below.
