Watch the First Trailer for Ricky Gervais’ THE OFFICE Movie, DAVID BRENT: LIFE ON THE ROAD

“He’s back. Did you miss me?”

Yes he is, and though he does not seem to be any less painful to be around, yeah, we kind of missed him.

Ricky Gervais‘s famous boss from The Office is back in a new mockumentary, David Brent: Life on the Road. Apparently, going out on the road has not taught him anything about proper workplace behavior.

The rep, who is now following his dream of being a singer-songwriter, shared one song with some less-than-enthusiastic office workers. “It’s about rock-n-roll, but it’s a metaphor for sex.” Based on the lyrics he probably didn’t need to actually tell anyone that. (That last line in the song does lead to the best joke in trailer though, but it’s one that doesn’t translate as well to text. So make sure you watch it.)

The original BBC version of The Office, the one that made Gervais a huge star, ran for only two seasons—or series as they call them in the UK—from 2001 to 2003, with only 12 episodes and two specials. (In contrast, the American version of the show ran from 2005 to 2013, boasting 201 episodes.) So there should be plenty of fresh material for the new movie, especially since Brent now “fancies himself a rock star on the road.”

David Brent: Life on the Road will release this August.
