Watch THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY Supercut

Ten years ago, director Christopher Nolan resurrected the cinematic legend of one of DC Comics’ greatest superheroes in Batman Begins. Comic fans always knew that the Batman character could carry a great series of movies, but it took Nolan and his collaborators to wash away the memory of Joel Schumacher’s Batman and Robin from the general public.

On some occasions, Nolan gets far too much credit for the themes and tone used in his Dark Knight Trilogy. Nolan didn’t invent that take on Batman. Even Nolan himself has cited Batman: Year One, Batman: The Long Halloween, The Killing Joke, The Man Who Falls, Knightfall, and No Man’s Land as the comic book tales that inspired Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises.

However, Nolan absolutely deserves credit for delivering the best Batman movies that anyone has made to date. The Dark Knight Trilogy was impeccably well cast, starting with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman; along with Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. The villains were also unmatched, as Liam Neeson introduced movie fans to Ra’s al Ghul, Tom Hardy made Bane formidable again, and Heath Ledger was unforgettable as The Joker. Anne Hathaway was also excellent as Selina Kyle, while Aaron Eckhart made Harvey Dent just as compelling as Bruce Wayne.

How can anyone pay tribute to that cinematic achievement? It’s simple. “Kill the Batman!” YouTube user Thomas Davidson has edited together an epic ten minute supercut of The Dark Knight Trilogy that boils Nolan’s Batman tale down to its essential parts. The most impressive thing about the Dark Knight Trilogy supercut is that it is still exciting to watch even though the films have been out for years.
