Watch David Harbour Dance with Penguins for a Good Cause

Attention America, this is not a Tide ad! (Although after Stranger Things star David Harbour worked his way through a few fake Super Bowl commercials, sometimes it’s hard to be sure.) Harbour actually missed the chance to see his ad run during the big game because he was on his way to Antarctica to make good on another social media promise. Earlier this year, Harbour asked Greenpeace how many retweets it would take for them to send him to the Antarctic to dance with the emperor penguins. Greenpeace set the goal at a comparatively low 200,000 retweets, which was surpassed in just a few hours. That was probably faster than the trip itself took!

In the clip, Harbour recreates one of the fan favorite scenes from Stranger Things 2, which went on to become a dancing Hopper meme. Amusingly, the penguins in the background were indifferent to Harbour’s presence as he shook his body for a good cause. The larger goal of this stunt was to raise awareness about Greenpeace’s push to create a protected area for the Antarctic and the animals that live there.

This might be Harbour’s wildest social media promise to date. He’s previously agreed to officiate a fan’s wedding and he even came through with a high school student’s request to pose in her senior picture. We’re very curious to see how he will top dancing with penguins, but we’ll find out soon enough.
