Watch as GEORGE TAKEI Tries to Become a POKEMON GO Expert

To say “Wow, Pokemon Go seems to be all the rage these days,” would be a complete and total understatement. What makes this game cool, other that the awesome AR and the socialization factor, is how there doesn’t seem to be a specific demographic the developers are aiming towards. If you are a human being, then you are what Niantic is looking for. This couldn’t ring truer than in a Facebook Live video George Takei posted the other day, as he tried to master this mobile game phenomenon.

Posted on The Daily Dot, the video is set in Central Park, and George is with his “trainer” Matt, who is going to show him the Pokemon Go ropes. Adorned in a Pokemon t-shirt and Pikachu hat, George couldn’t be more ready. After George catches his first Bulbasaur, Matt teaches him about Pokestops and their link to historical monuments. George then makes the suggestion that they put more information on the monuments in the game, adding an educational element.

The first few Pokemon George caught were pretty easy, but he finally got that “Pokemon rage” when attempting to catch a Bellsprout. However, since it’s George Takei, he didn’t give up, and the smile on his face when he finally caught it will definitely brighten your day.

If you are on the fence on whether or not to get on the Pokemon Go bandwagon, I can’t think of a better endorsement.

So what do you think? Does George have what it takes to catch ’em all? What other celebrities would you like to see embrace this craze? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
