Between his hit ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat and his role as North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in The Interview, Randall Park has emerged as one of the hottest comedy stars in recent months. So it’s terrific to see Park continue to stretch his comedic wings in indie films like Amigo Undead, a quirky new horror-comedy from writer-director Ryan Nagata and writer-producer George Edelman, both of whom were responsible for the well-received sci-fi shorts Marooned? and 1945A.
Co-Starring The Sarah Silverman Program‘s Steve Agee, as well as Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie, Horrible Bosses), David Clennon (Gone Girl, Flag of Our Fathers), and Jeff Bryan Davis (Happy Family, Whoâs Line Is It Anyway?), Amigo Undead is about two brothers (Park and Agee) looking to reconnect on a desert camping weekend, which goes horribly wrong when someone is accidentally killed and their death is covered up. Based on the clip and the film’s trailer below, it looks a little like what would happen if City Slickers, Weekend at Bernie’s, and I Know What You Did Last Summer had a baby. A great, big zombie baby.
Amigo Undead will be released by Gravitas Ventures and available on all VOD/digital platforms on June 2nd, 2015.
