Watch All of POKKÉN TOURNAMENT’s Super Burst Attacks

While everyone else on the internet is ranting and raving about the re-released versions of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow, I’m sitting over here twiddling my thumbs and waiting on a different type of Pokémon experience. A new Pokémon experience that hits a little closer to home for an ole fighting game-embracing chum like me. Yessir, I’m talking about Pokkén Tournament if you didn’t guess by now!

A new video was released on Monday showing all of the game’s base characters executing their stylish Super Burst Attacks–high damage special moves that each character can use to gain the momentum advantage in Pokkén Tournament matches. In the video from Arekkz Gaming (viewable above), they’re compared to Ultra attacks from Street Fighter IV, which is an accurate comparison. On top of that, though, the attacks are all very animated, very long, and very brutal. Most of them look like they’d kill a human if one so happened to be caught on the receiving end, especially Machamp’s Super Burst, which sends the counter up to 1,000 hits landed on his opponents. Yeesh, I’ll be blocking like a Hollywood director when I go up against him…

Pokkén Tournament is set to launch for the Wii U on March 18. Which Pokémon will be your main on the gym floor? Choose your thoughts wisely and toss them into the comments below.
