Watch a Clip from Netflix’s New Series, DAWN OF THE CROODS (Exclusive)

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring… except for the Croods! Now you can count down to Christmas with the Croods in their new animated series for Netflix, Dawn of the Croods.

Dawn of the Croods is a precursor to the 2013 Dreamworks animated movie, and here we get to learn about everyday life with the Croods as they experience life before, well, life as we know it. The family lives in Ahhh! Valley and there are firsts a-plenty since it’s the dawn of man. First to get BFFs, first to become foodies, and they even get the first pet ever (which looks suspiciously prehistoric pug-like). Will there be a first selfie stick? We’ll just have to wait and see.

The show features an all-new hilariously talented voice cast, including Dan Milano, Cree Summer, Stephanie Lemelin, and is also heavy on the Saturday Night Live alums: Chris Parnell, Ana Gasteyer, and Laraine Newman. And though it’s based on the kids film, comedy is integral to a show produced by Brendan Hay of Robot Chicken, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and The Mighty B!.

Though the show has yet to debut, it’s already scored three Annie Award nominations for accomplishments in animation for production design, as well as voice acting nominations for Grey Griffin and Larainne Newman. Quite an accomplishment for a new animated series.

Dawn of the Croods premieres on Netflix the day before Christmas on December 24, perfect for holiday binge-watching in your pajamas.
