Walt Disney World Is Now Selling Edible Poop

When Disney decides to build a new food area for their parks, you better believe it’s no average theme park food court. The building decor is designed as original set pieces, the food is deliciously themed, the seating is thoughtful and oh yeah, sometimes there’s edible poop.

This week, the much anticipated Harambe Market opened in Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World and along with it, Zuri’s Sweets Shop. Sweets have always been a mainstay of Disney’s parks and this one is no exception. Walls are lined with packaged snacks and treats, from African Spiced Popcorn to Lion King themed candies.

Step over to the cold confectionery case and you might spy something a little different; edible poop. That’s right, the folks at Disney took theming to the next level and have introduced Match the Species chocolate made to look like animal waste. Can you identify which mock-feces matches the Elephant, Giraffe, Cotton Top Tamarin, or Hippo? Can’t do it visually? Why don’t you taste it. No really it’s chocolate that just looks like manure, honest.

Edible Poop

The Elephant Poop is actually chocolate peanut butter fudge with sweet rolled oats and yellow coconut flakes. The all-too-real Giraffe poop is rolled chocolate fudge brownie and freshly made caramel. The Cotton Top Tamarin Poops actually looks pretty good if it wasn’t in the poop section. It’s made of pretzel pearls coated in chocolate peanut butter fudge with sweet rolled at flakes. Finally, the Hippo Poop just looks bleh. It’s a chocolate fudge caramel brownie with peanut butter and rolled oats. I’ll never look at brownies the same way again.

At $3.99 a poop (er, pop) the chocolate is a treat to be savored and a fine souvenir to take home. I’m sure Grandma would be thrilled to receive a box of poop from your recent vacation.

As a visitor to Walt Disney World, I have to say the African food at the Animal Kingdom park and resort were some of the best I’ve ever had, therefore I’m sure the taste of these chocolates is divine. I just don’t see a dessert poop buffet replacing the turkey leg or churro anytime soon; at least I hope not.
