Key and Peele’s New Show Will Be with Vine Star King Bach

What happens when you take six seconds of content and try to stretch it out into a feature-length presentation? Such might be the dream for Vine’s elite, a group that have already tried to make a movie together, but were unable to secure funding after an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign. Vine star King Bach—real name Andrew Bachelor—however, might just be the Vine celebrity to break out as it was just announced that he has his own comedy TV show in the works, executive produced by none other than Key & Peele‘s Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

According to Deadline, the untitled FOX show, will be written by Key & Peele writer-producer Alex Rubens and “is loosely based on a King Bach Vine and stars Bachelor as an undercover cop who grew up on the streets and goes back to his old neighborhood to take down the bad guys who bullied him when they were kids.”

It may not be easy for the Internet star to make the transition to television, but Bachelor seems to be one of the most qualified people to give it a shot: He is the most popular Vine user out there, with 14 million followers and 5.1 billion loops across his videos. Bachelor already has his foot in the door, too, as he has previously appeared on Key & Peele, The Mindy Project, House Of Lies and Black Jesus.

This seems like a can’t-miss, especially with Key and Peele at the helm, but let us know in the comments if you think a Vine star can cross over to TV, and check out some of King Bach’s recent vines below.
