Vertigo To Release MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Tie-In Books

This May, audiences will be entering the wild world of George Miller’s Mad Max franchise for the first time in thirty years. Ever since the first trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road was released, fans of the original trilogy and newcomers alike have been counting down the days until its release. The film will follow “Mad Max” Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) as he meets Furiosa (Charlize Theron),  a woman with a mission to cross a vast post-apocalyptic desert to return home. However, with the sake of humanity in the balance, Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and Nux (Nicholas Hoult) don’t plan on making it an easy trip.

To celebrate this return to a desolate future, DC’s Vertigo imprint will be releasing a four-part, prequel comic series following the major characters in Fury Road. The first of these issues follows Immortan Joe and Nux, the second revolves around Furiosa, and the last two-part will center on Max. As an added bonus, Miller will be co-writing each issue to fit them into the greater picture of the series. Along with the prequel comics Vertigo will also be releasing a book of art inspired by visual style and world of Fury Road. Miller also teamed up with the comics publisher to curate work from 65 different artists and collect them in one volume, Mad Max: Fury Road: Inspired Artists. Thanks to an exclusive from Slashfilm we have the chance to see the front and back covers of Inspired Artists and the front cover for Nux & Immortan Joe #1.

Mad Max: Fury Road: Inspired Artists will be released on May 6th, while Nux & Immortan Joe #1 won’t hit shelves until May 20th. So stop by the comment section and let us know what you think.
