Being a Sith Lord who is also the leader of an entire fleet of ships is a whole lot of work by anyone’s estimation. Not even someone as powerful and seemingly with-it as Darth Vader can handle the pressures of choking underlings, hiring bounty hunters, AND combing the galaxy for his newly-discovered son. He’s going to need someone to make sure his visor isn’t fogged and his dials on his suit are set properly, and that’s why he’s decided to hire a personal assistant, preferably someone perky and organized.
