There are two movies coming out with the exact same premise. They each have an individual trailers. Why?
Why, indeed. Here’s Blind Film Critic‘s more convenient mashup of “No Strings Attached” and “Friends With Benefits”:
Yes, that IS all they can come up with these days. Take a Black Swan star, pair her up with an actor who also invests in tech companies, add a sarcastic friend, wacky family members, and the same plot about f-buddies where one falls in love with the other, and you have magic. Or Generic Rom-Com.
HT: Becca Gleason
Both Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis needed a sex movie to satiate the sexual tension they had in their last movie Black Swan.
>> “I guess I’ll watch it on Lifetime eight years from now when I have a really bad head cold.” >>
HA!
@ajax9191 – Not to mention “A Bug’s Life” and “Antz”! Oh, and good one with The Prestigious Illusionist.
The way I see it, is much in the way the two guys in The 40 Year Old Virgin explain all good things come in pairs: “Volcano” “Dante’s Peak”, “Deep Impact” “Armageddon”, “Panda Express” “Yoshinoya Beef Bowl”. I almost refused to see The Illusionist, because I saw The Prestige a few weeks before hand.
Why go to the movie and spend money when I can just watch my copy of “The Devil Wears Prada” over and over again. It pretty much the same thing.
Bleh…garbage films that will never be remembered
I think same-concept movies like this could make a really good documentary. Seems there’s a pair every other summer.
Oh, so there are two separate movies! I saw the ad for on tv last night for the one with Mila Kunis and thought, “wait, I thought Natalie Portman was supposed to be in this.” That thought was quickly followed by, “I guess I’ll watch it on Lifetime eight years from now when I have a really bad head cold.”
Thank you! Someone did this. When I saw the 2nd run movie poster, I wanted to punch it repetitively.

What universe is this that beautiful people can’t get laid?
I’m really tempted to make my pitch for RomComCon (Romantic Comedy Convention) again. But I suppose I won’t. Except for my mention.
That’s what I get for not clicking the unadorned youtube link first… 😛
Also… “Seinfeld did it.”
