TWIN PEAKS Audiobook Features Kyle MacLachlan and Fellow Cast Members

Twin Peaks may not be returning to airwaves until 2017, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a few treats this year. Teasers. The vinyl release of the original Twin Peaks soundtrack. A luminous cast list. And, as we reported a few weeks back, co-creator Mark Frost‘s book, The Secret History of Twin Peaks. Today we learned that the novel’s accompanying audiobook is set to feature a bunch of the actual cast members. That’s right: Dale Cooper’s sweet, sweet voice is about to get funneled right into your eardrums.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, original cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Russ Tamblyn, Michael Horse, Chris Mulkey, and David Patrick Kelly will all voice characters in the upcoming book. Amy Shiels, James Morrison, and Robert Knepper, all new arrivals in the show’s 2017 reboot, will also take part.

“I am thrilled that both original cast members and new actors will be coming together on this project to bring this other aspect of the world of Twin Peaks to life,” Frost said in a statement.

Of the book itself, the publisher, Tor/Flatiron Books, says it’s a “vastly layered, wide-ranging history that deepens the mysteries of the iconic town in ways that will thrill disciples of the original series, and will prepare fans for the upcoming Showtime series like nothing else out there.” The Secret History of Twin Peaks is filled with documents that will help us catch up with what’s been going on in these 25 years since the final Twin Peaks episode aired in 1992.

The novel is set to arrive on October 18. So, for those itching for even more Twin Peaks complexity—as if Black Lodges and extraterrestrial (?) owls weren’t enough—nab the book, don your favorite pair of headphones, and let David Lynch‘s indelible characters guide your journey.
